Review: 127 Hours

06 Apr

This 2010 film is based on the true story of Aron Ralston, a daring climber and adventurer whose arm was trapped under a boulder that fell on him while hiking in Utah. The movie covers the events leading up to his harrowing ordeal, and his struggle to escape being trapped in the crevasse, as he struggled with exposure, dehydration, and eventually the amputation of his own arm.

This movie is the ultimate example of being proactive, and not being a victim of circumstances. He battled all of the odds against him with courage, determination and an overpowering will to live. This seems to be a rare quality nowadays. There is something compelling about the “can’t keep a good man down” kind of person.

**** 4 stars!
